A Bit (a tiny bit) of Inspiration
A bit (a tiny bit) of inspiration. The source of such inspiration? Mexico. You see, these past few days I’ve found myself longing back for the summers of my childhood spent back in Mexico. The smells, the tastes, and particularly the colours. All the typical stuff which gets you all nostalgic (and listening to who knows what -mariachis in this case- which only makes you all the more nostalgic…). Nonetheless, Mexico is a country which has had its significant influence in designer’s collections (the latest being Jean Paul Gaultier’s Spring 2011 Couture… remember the big hats?!) Today, amidst my longing for home, I experienced a surge of inspiration- one of which was the mixture of rough with soft and translucent fabrics in screaming colours. Thinking hessian cloth (jute) with organza to be precise.
