GPOY (Gratuitous Picture of Yourself) Part I. For being a blogger I’m not so down with my online terminology. Not down at all. Hence the reason why perhaps, I found it so utterly hilarious when I heard the term GPOY just last week. 
GPOY (Gratuitous Picture Of Yourself). 
LOLs. Triple LOLs. (Just to go with the flow- I haven’t LOLed since ICQ was The Thing). So why did I find it so incredibly amusing? Well duh. I’m completely guilty of this in my ‘online persona’. 
If you are a fellow blogger you will get this instantly, but if not you may require further enlightenment. It is one thing to have someone take a picture of you, but photographing yourself in front of the mirror takes GPOY to a whole new level of awkwardness. 
Here are my favourite GPOYs (and their respective trains of thought).

The STRAIGHT FORWARD GPOY: Straight. Forward. Unfazed.

-”I’m too cool to be taking GPOYs (but I still take them anyways).” (And of course my attachment to my Instagram account resembles that of an unborn child to their mother).
The Flirtatious GPOY: You are either making eye contact with your reflection in the mirror or looking straight into the lens (the later one of which takes awkwardness to the max). 
-Either way “Helloooooooo baby!!!!!” should be resonating in your pretty little head (while hopefully keeping your fingers crossed that no guys are ogling your tumblr). 
The Man Repeller GPOY: You don’t care about looking hot, beautiful or whatever. 
-”This is a fashion blog and since the audience is predominantly female- who the heck am I trying to look so hot for?” 
The “I’m a bit too pleased with myself” GPOY: You are self conceited. (a.k.a. the cheerleader of bloggers). 
-”[blank]“
