Pink 'n Red. So Hot Right Now

Pink 'n Red. So Hot Right Now. Long gone are the days when mixing pink and red was a fashion faux pas. Perhaps following the holy-moly colour blocking craze of last year, designers (particularly for footwear) are mix 'n matching pink 'n red in spectacular form. 

Just ask Charlotte Olympia and her Masako satin pumps. Predominantly red, with a touch of fuchsia, these towering ladies will get your heart racing. 

And don't even get me started on Acne's Audrey silk mules. Just cool enough to make it into the 'daywear' category (as long as you don't ride a bike, of course). 

But my favourite are Stella McCartney's satin sandals, drawn (and animated!*) by yours truly above. With that pink and red satin (plus the chunky Perspex heel), these cool chicks** have just made it to the top of my shoe list. 

Now now, I'd better stop typing before I seem even more obsessed than I already am. 

Just remember, Pink 'n Red. It's definitely the new black.

  2. Paola, you are absolutely right about the pink & red colour blocking trend and this remain my favourite combination together with the more 'understated' pink fluo & neutral beige! I like your illustration very much: the shoes look even more beautiful than the originals!

That's the danger of blogging - you start looking at beautiful things to blog about them and before you know it, you want one, or two, or all of them. ;) I love this colour-combination very much, too. Wouldn't wear it as clothes because it would look strange on me, but the shoes... Oh, I love the shoes for that special touch.

    1. hahaha. I was shopping in Selfridges last week when I bought the Isabel Marant sneakers and I could not help but notice this pink & red trend in shoes - just so obvious! There was also a pair of Lanvin flats in this combo!

  15. There were similar sandals in zara last Summer, and also Asos had something like that.
    I do like this colour combination in shoes but I totally hate it in clothes... all after I spent my childhood trying to wear pink and red together and my mum didnt allow me to..

  20. Fun gif! I remember a favorite outfit from highschool was a pink and red mini skirt I wore with a red tube-top... this is a color combo that comes in and out of fashion, don't you think? That particular outfit wouldn't fly today as it's really out of date otherwise XD
