Bougainvillea. A little illustration of the darling (and totally talented) Jamie Beck of From Me To You (you know, the co-creator of cinemagraphs and beautiful photos-to-boot) in a design of mine which has been floating through my head.
With all the bougainvillea we have around at the moment it is hard not to be inspired. The intense hue, the delicate shape… (I’d better stop before I sound too obsessed with a flower).
I am thinking hand-dyed sand washed silk (only in parts, taking advantage it doesn’t dye evenly) and a brightly coloured light-weight habotai for the bottom. Exact hues still to be determined.
