Dior Couture Fall 2012 #MinimalismMeetsCouture
July 3, 2012 in Fashion Illustration, PvdH Fashion Show Reviews
Dior Couture Fall 2012 #MinimalismMeetsCouture. The oh-so-much awaited first Raf Simons collection for Dior is finally here, and in all its couture grandeur. And boy did it live up to (the much built-up!) expectations.
Bringing a touch of his known minimalism to the intricacy of couture, the result was a wearability which couture has tended to forsake for the sake of showmanship over the years. From daywear to evening wear there was much to love (and adore).
p.s. Did you check out the shoes? (!!!) #(Double)Swoon

Oh i could not agree more and yes the shoes swoooon!! xxhttp://fashionandfrank.blogspot.co.uk/
Hi,beautiful young talented laady!I miss Galliano SO very much here……………I´am sorry:-(*And I'am deep impressed about your great sketches:-)))*Hugs from Amsterdam,***Violetta***
I'm so impressed buy the work of Raf Simons.http://www.younglington.wordpress.com
I actually didn't like it… It wasn't Dior Couture to me… Love the illustrations, though. If I saw them before the collection, I'd probably like the designs more.

I love your illustrations but somehow his designs were lacking a bit of drama that we are so used to seeing at a Dior couture show. On another note – you have "the" shorts! Hah! Lucky girl you
xx
Those are wonderful, would love to be swaying down the street in these..your illustrations are always so captivating

I have to admit, when I first heard about Galliano leaving I was devastated, he WAS Dior in my eyes. As soon as I heard Raf was taking over though, I knew it would be something special & I think this collection actually surpassed my expectations, seriously every single look was perfect! So beautiful! Gorgeous illustrations as always! Love how much the print pops on the first one!
The Raf Simons collection for Dior was everything it should be and more…he did an abcsolutely fabulous job keeping the Dior feel but also creating a new direction for this label…
That pink one is to die for- it reminds me of something Grace Kelly would wear.
Dear Paola, first of all, let me tell you that I love the new blog layout…great (digital) makeover! Actually, I just commented on the Dior Couture in another post, so I’m going to repeat myself…I was lucky to take my lunch break at work during the Dior show, so I had the chance to see it live. I have to say that the clothes were amazing and it was a great show. Very Raf Simons, but not sure how much ‘new Dior’ there was there. To be honest they could have kept the previous designer if they wanted to look back at the classic element of this maison. But there again, this is my impression and I’m sure Mr. Simons will be able to show his vision in his upcoming collections.
Ops, forgot to say something…Your illustrations are absolutely amazing! And of course I loved both the blue shoes and the bright lips…I’m going to look for the shade and get the Dior lipstick they used!
lovely ! I like so much Dior collection !
