Batik
July 10, 2012 in PvdH's #todayimwearing
Currently loving cozy-ing up at home in the rainy (nay stormy) summer afternoons (preferably accompanied by a good organic hot coco), going through past (even vintage) issues of Vogue, rooibos tea (with a little almond milk), pencil skirts, (sweet sweet summer) cherries, green ‘n purple (as in the colours, and preferably mixed together), habotai silk, Fresh’s Rose face mask, (home-made) crostatta di ricotta, (mirrored) sunglasses…
… and finally, my mother’s vintage batik bustier.
Perfect for spicing things up on a rainy summer afternoon.
wearing: PvdH (aka DIY) sand-washed silk pyjama-style trousers, vintage batik bustier, Juicy Couture t-shirt

Wow your blog is stunning, love the photography. the bustier is amazing and I too am obsessed with rooibus at the minute, haven’t tried any milk in it – almond milk sounds good!

I just adore these fresh photos of you!!! And what a gorgeous bustier!
Your silk trousers look incredibly comfy! The batik is beautiful- love the design on it.
Rooibos tea is one of my favourites, especially on a rainy day (and with a good book in hand).
It sounds like a perfect afternoon! I should consider doing the same tacking in mind all the rain here…The bustier is absolutely beautiful! Now I know from whom you got your perfect style scene – your mum:)

wow, WOW, W.O.W- I am really into African batik print and love LOVE the bustier, I WANT ONE! Actually I have so many batik print materials in my flat- I use them as throws, sarongs etc. Actually I could get a tailor to make a bustier out of the fabric… ( I can’t DIY, I’m afraid). Again, I love Love it, way to blend both the Western and African aesthetic!
Yes, we all need colours to warm up days! From afar it looks like a provencal pattern with a tinge of paisley…how i’d like to see this bustier closer. It’s even better when it’s a family heritage !
Beautiful shot and wonderful light. Xxxx
Paola, you described my ideal relaxing day! I recognise your silky pyjamas trousers and the way you styled them with your mom’s top is absolutely original!
You look beautiful!
Flicking through ELLE UK yesterday, there was a Toni & Guy ad with a model wearing a bustier over a shirt just like you! xx
