(pink) panther
September 25, 2012 in PvdH Designs, PvdH's #todayimwearing
(pink) panther. Mixing any form of pink ‘n black never fails to bring the Pink Panther (along with its incredibly cool and incredibly annoying ditty) to mind.
But hey, give me a powder pink, add a soft violet, throw in some black and you’ve got me swinging.
And talking about new-found-loves, (while I am generally a shopper in the men’s department when it comes to sweaters) I can be found as of late rummaging through my mother’s more lady-like pieces. You know, the short-sleeved cashmeres and angoras which give a 50′s allure.
Pretty perfect for this time of the year, when Mother Nature is still having issues letting go of our dear friend Summer.
wearing: PvdH (aka DIY) two-toned silk shantung skirt, Ballantyne cashmere sweater (find similar here), Marc Jacobs python heels, Illesteva Frieda sunglasses

I smile as I am reading this.
Just this past weekend, I pulled out some of my Mom’s 50′s sweaters. She had so many of the 3/4 sleeve type, and I am just loving them now.
Such a wonderful outfit you have here, and I absolutely LOVE the skirt.
Beautiful! That skirt is fantastic and the whole look is very classy. xxx
P.S. Sorry I haven’t commended for a while – since I signed up to receive your posts via email I’ve been reading them there and then…
No need to apologise!
You do effortless chic just so so well! I agree with the general thread- this skirt is just perfect and I really wish I could get my hands on it!

I don’t know where to start haha, love you latest post, the presentation is really great ! The first pics is gorgeous and so is that dress
I really like the slightly moody themed photos that’s just perfect to capture the essence of the 50s look. I do agree with you that I get bored with the general personal style shots that’s so popular within the blogosphere at the moment. I like something more original and different which is what you’ve achieved here.
Hey Paola, it’s been a long time. I saw your comment over at the style crusader about fashion week. Looking good in that get-up especially the second shot from the top.
Wow that skirt is to die for. Did you really make it yourself?!
thank you Lauren! Yes, from the pattern all the way to the sewing (most of my clothes are!)
It’s been ages! yoru web is looking absolutely fabulous! of course.
You look so chic and love your style (and photographies)! I really like your blog and I’m your new follower. Hope to keep in touch
