(the) white heel

October 17, 2012 in Fashion Illustration

the white heel. I cannot hear the words ‘white shoe’ without thinking of three things: nurse’s footwear, brides’ attire, and my New England boarding school graduation (where finding an alright choice lead to a rather exasperating treasure hunt-like event).

Boy does it seem like a gazillion (or so) years ago that I wrote that paragraph. It was, however, back in March and I was talking about the upcoming Celine white footwear for resort (2012). But with Philo continuing her white heel odyssey well into fall (let me call preference for this season) and other designers jumping on board (Manolo and Jimmy included), I am in search of my perfect pair.

The funny thing? These white beings are rather elusive, as despite occupying an entire page (and exposé) in this month’s British Vogue they are nowhere to be found on the world-wide-(shopping)-web.

In fact, it seems that Zara has yet to come on board on this one (seriously?!) and I only just managed to hunt down a pair all the way down at ASOS (blessed-be, only a few pairs left and on sale).

But hey, let me be honest- my (fashion) thirst for these is yet to be quenched.
