(new) fall basics
October 26, 2012 in PvdH Designs, PvdH's #todayimwearing

(new) fall basics. I find it rather remarkable the things that with time you tend to forget. Take the Mexican (rather sweltering) October heat- it seems that during my years growing up in Mexico City I simply (and naturally) took great weather for granted. And so, in the past month, I have been oh-so pleasantly surprised by the beautiful (and ongoing) warmth.
We do have, however, (rather unfortunately)(and rather fortunately) the evenings to remind us that it is in fact fall already and a little cashmere and cover-up is required.
Still, having lived through proper autumns, I find that the time for fur and cozying up (aka living) in cashmere (and silk blended) pashminas is not quite here yet.
So I have made (painted?!) my perfect substitute- a silk habotai scarf. Hand-dyed in black ‘n blue, twisted and tied.
My new fall basic.
That scarf is great piece!! You look fab!

You give a great description of the feeling that perks up your senses when the seasons change. I live in the freezing Midwest, where I assume my Scandinavian ancestors settled because the brutally cold falls and winters felt quite familiar. But I find that the soft feel of a knit scarf or sweater is just as comforting as the wind is frigid.
So simple and yet so chic. I love how you painted the silk- that really is one of your fortes.
These colours suit you so well, Paola! The scarf is gorgeous…
Wishing you a beautiful weekend!

Beautiful pictures and beautiful mix of cashmere and silk! Paola, when could I buy your silk habotai scarf and other pieces of your marvellous collection?! Caterina
Basics save our lives. And if details liven up a look, basics create it. Love your beautiful scarf and it gets even more beautiful when I think that you made it yourself

This is so stunning Paola! I would love to have one of these scarves- they really highlight a simple outfit.
I love this, I should look at a tuto to do this, hand-dyed seems to be your thing!
