Born in Mexico City to a Mexican mother and a Dutch father, Paola van der Hulst is a lover of fashion, art, life, yoga, food, strong opinions (and all of those similar clichés).
She left Mexico at 16 to study at Kent School in the United States. Finding herself more in-tune with Europe at the time, she chose to study at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland, where she graduated with a degree in Economics and Finance and consequently worked in finance in London for three years.
Looking to pursue her true creative passion, she left her job in finance in the spring of 2012 and moved back to Mexico City after a decade of living abroad. It was there that she re-discovered the creative potential and her passion for the family business of silver jewelry and decided to follow in her grandfather’s footsteps.
Paola van der Hulst Jewelry was born out of Paola’s love for beauty, small details, creativity, and a special inkling for precious stones. Pieces range from the everyday chic to the more elaborate and edgy in both silver and gold, but all with the highest quality and attention to detail in mind- aiming to breach the gap between costume and fine jewelry.
The PvdH Journal is Paola’s virtual mood board, recording her illustrations, artwork, designs and general fashion musings.
